Our team understands that art installations on land don’t function the same way on a cruise ship. We are intimately familiar with cruise logistics and take quality seriously at every stage.

The curatorial process for cruise projects takes extra care to ensure durability and appropriate materials. We’ll always recommend materials that will hold up in humid conditions, salty air, changing temperatures, rainfall (if exposed to the elements), and extensive cleaning. The Indiewalls team is experienced in IMO and ISO regulations and are mindful of using marine-certified materials that are fire-safe, low-toxicity, and non-combustible.
Art serves as an extension of the ship’s story, it conveys the unique point of view of the brand and deepens the story the design has already developed. Indiewalls acts as an extension of that design process, curating art with that same intentionality to give guests an immersive experience.

“Working with Indiewalls to develop the artwork program for Loews Ventana Canyon has been a great experience - they approached our budget creatively and developed pieces that are both unique and appropriate for high-volume production. We remain impressed with their ability to manage logistics and production for over 2000 individual pieces. They have been collaborative and communicative through every moment, allowing us to take this off our plate while remaining confident that everything is on track for a timely and beautiful delivery!”

Dedicated project managers are experienced in the nuanced logistics pertaining to cruise projects. Cruise ships require specific packing and crating methods, so we cater all of our packing methods to simplify receiving and on-site locating during dry dock. Our team is prepared to provide detailed carrier information, crate/container content information, and all required tax/import related documents ahead of every shipment.
Every artwork will be as secure as it is stunning. Indiewalls employs vibration-resistant hardware, tamper-proof mounts, and marine-grade adhesives to ensure each piece stays in place. Project Managers will provide a detailed installation calendar with indications of Indiewalls’ staff travel, artist travel (as needed), and install guides for the on-site team throughout the installation window.
