Indiewalls curated an international collection of sculpture and mixed media works, including many large scale installations commissioned specifically for the hotel. The art collection accents the modern European interiors, filling voids in the architecture while accompanying the hotel guest through their journey in and around the hotel. Powerful gestural strokes and strong geometry imbue a calm but ever-pulsing energy through the public spaces, while sharp-lined abstract photography bring extra intrigue into the 300 guest rooms.
This gravity-defying installation suspends down 3-stories of the hotel's grand staircase. The abstract mobiles, crafted from welded metal frames with beautifully sewn large linen panels, are suspended from the skylight using airplane cables.
